As we take a look at the SAFER Buffalo Grove calendar, it’s clear that Medicare Open Enrollment is coming up soon (October 15th). We have a variety of Medicare topics for you in September. With presentations in the morning, afternoon or evening and at locations from Wheeling Township on the south to Vernon Area Library on the north there is no excuse to go into next month without knowing about your options. You can even get a free dinner at the 5:30 PM presentation on the 19th!

Speaking of free meals, one and all are invited to come to the Illinois Triad Conference on Spetember 24th and 25th. We have two days of great speakers on topics such as scams, public transportation options, traffic safety for seniors and more! The conference is free to all 60+ years old and includes free breakfast and lunch each day. We hope to see you there!

Elsewhere, ITAC will be at Wheeling Township to let people test their free amplified phones. The Buffalo Grove Fire Department will have their annual open house on September 14th. Waverly Inn hosts a great support group for caregivers twice a month. The monthly Public Safety Breakfast will feature your favorite police department in September. And finally, you can learn how to declutter your home- even if you don’t plan on selling, decluttering can make your home much safer!
